Africans who watch the College Football Championship game this Monday will see the talents of two of their own —  Rome Odunze of the Washington Huskies and Alex Orji of the Michigan Wolverines. Both players are among the most acclaimed stars of college football and are US-born sons of Nigerian immigrants.

Alex Orji, is a quarter back with the Wolverines. While playing backup, he plays multiple other positions

Orji is the rare African who plays quarter back (QB), the most important position in football.  He has been a backup this 2023 season but the team uses his talents in multiple ways, especially as a runner.  He is considered the best athlete on the Michigan team and is likely to take over as QB in 2024.

Rome Odunze of the Washington Huskies is one of the best receivers in college football. He is likely to be drafted in top ten by professional teams in 2024

Odunze is a wide receiver who people consider the type that “catches everything” (that the QB throws).  He is so talented that he might go in the top five when the National Football League (NFL) drafts players in 2024.

By end of Monday’s game, the team of one of these African stars of college football will be holding the championship trophy
