By Tari Owi

Fresh off their heart wrenching loss in the 2024 AFC title game, the Baltimore Ravens immediately got to work strengthening their team for next season. According to a report from MSN, one of their first postseason actions was to sign Nigerian wide-receiver Nelson Agholor(1) to a one year extension. Signing the 30 year old is one of a series of investments the Ravens’ are making for a much anticipated 2024 season.
Agholor’s deal begins to round out a depth chart following an outstanding season for the team. The 30-year old receiver has played in the NFL since 2015 when he was drafted as a first-round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles where he won a superbowl. Since leaving the Eagles he has played for the Las Vegas Raiders as well as the New England Patriots before making his way to Baltimore.
The 2023 season marked Agholor’s first with Baltimore during which he had a memorable showing. He ended the season scoring four touchdowns, 35 passes and ran for 381 yards. Although the Ravens have more decisions to make to shore up their offense, signing Agholor adds a seasoned and accomplished player to the starting lineup.
Off the field Agholor is remembered by Philadelphia Fans for going viral. In September 2019, the wide receiver went viral when a child was caught falling out of a burning building. The individual who caught the child shared during an interview that he was able to catch the child “Unlike Agholor” alluding to Agholor’s poor performance in a game prior to the incident. The hashtag #UnlikeAgholor was trending on X(formerly known as twitter). The player took it in stride inviting hero and their family to a home game.
